A mysterious Elven merchant with a penchant for magical artefacts and enchanted items. Though Thalorad is a name well known amongst merchant circles both in Belfrie and abroad, few have ever met the mysterious purveyor of mystical goods, with fewer still garnering anything about him beyond the curiosities he sells. Though were they to ask, Thalorad would give no quarter about his past or his origin.
Indeed the mysterious Elf seemed to just appear one day, already established with a hoard of trinkets and baubles with magical properties, ready to be hawked into the hands of adventurers, or bartered for as often he enjoyed trading seemingly mundane items for those in his shop. It was from these mundane items that he would imbue magical properties, each unique to the item presented to him, selling them for a tidy profit after. Indeed it became clear to some that Thalorad was no ordinary merchant, though the nature of his magical powers was unclear to them.
The Belfrian Merchant League made several attempts to study his artefacts and himself, employing scholars from the University of Ardris, though he would often elude them, and any artefacts he sold that came into their possession quickly lost their magical properties. In the wake of the Liturium War it is said that the merchant was spotted several times there, providing aid to Elves and Men in the Elven Kingdom now occupied by the Coalition. Now he is seen again in the city of Tradver, one of the prestigious guests invited by Skilet to attend the celebration of the Crescent Moon Casino’s sixtieth anniversary, though Thalorad is well aware that his invitation is a ploy by the Belfrian Merchant League to capture or kill him.
Despite this, he has chosen to attend with a large pouch of gold, aiming to drain the casino vaults dry before the weekend is over.
